Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Regional Systems Manager to lead our IT infrastructure across multiple locations. This pivotal role involves overseeing the deployment, maintenance, and security of complex systems to ensure seamless operations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, leveraging their technical expertise to support our growth and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot computer systems and network devices (LAN and WAN); implement backup processes and assess systems for upgrades or replacement.
- Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software, operating system software, and cloud services (O365 and Azure).
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems unique to hotel operations; provide support for all services relating to software/hardware used in the hotel.
- Resolve user support and service requests; provide software installation, maintenance, upgrading, and training related to the hotel’s business operations.
- Remain informed of Brand standards and ensure all hotel IT systems, processes, and technologies comply with these standards to support consistent guest experience and operational excellence.
- Plan and manage hotel IT projects; procure hotel IT systems and services.
- Gather data pertaining to the hotel’s IT needs to identify, predict, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external resources; practice the SilverBirch values of performance, engagement, quality, integrity, and growth.
- Ensure all hotel technology, including property management systems, guest services software, and other specialized hotel applications, is maintained to support seamless operations and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with PCI-DSS, timely security vulnerability patching, and overall security of the environment in alignment with the company's security posture.
- Other related projects and duties as assigned.
Experience, Training and Education (demonstrating requirements):
· Post-Secondary Education
· Minimum 5 years of IT experience
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:
· People skills including empathy, collaboration, written and verbal communication, negotiation, flexibility, and active listening.
· Skilled in IT security, server management, and cloud services.
· Ability to configure and manage Microsoft servers, workstations and O365.
· Knowledge of network infrastructure including structured cabling and wireless systems.
· Knowledge of distributed cable TV including head end systems, IPTV, signal distribution, commercial television sets and set-top boxes.
· Knowledge of hotel property management systems.
· Knowledge of Point of Sales systems and credit card terminals.
Proven ability to manage IT projects, including communication, scheduling, resource allocation, risk assessment, stakeholder engagement, budgeting, and applying technical expertise to deliver solutions on time and within scope.
Working Conditions:
· Normal office working conditions.
· May be asked to resolve emergencies outside of business hours.
· Business travel required (quarterly visit to regional hotels, annual planning meeting in Vancouver)
