SkyFire Energy is seeking a motivated Electrical Apprentice to work on our Solar Operations and Maintenance team in Medicine Hat, AB.
We welcome candidates that are actively working on their electrical apprenticeship or those who are highly driven to start a career in the electrical trade. SkyFire Energy provides on-site training and indenture opportunities.

What the role offers:
Compressed work week scheduling (Monday-Thursday) - 3 day weekends!!
Overtime options
Permanent, full-time positions (work is available 12 months of the year)
Ongoing on and off-site training
Indentureship in the electrical trade and room to grow in the company
Primary duties of the job include:
Contributing to the operations and maintenance of utility scale solar plants across Western Canada
Ensure crew and job site safety, including proper use of PPE and Fall Protection
Aiding senior technicians in their daily responsibilities, including cleaning, organization, record keeping, reporting, equipment maintenance and repair
Using hand tools, both manual and powered. Safely using multi meters and other electrical testing devices.
Helping with site upkeep as required
Providing friendly service to all customers
Highway driving in all weather conditions
Weekends on call, twice per month
A mix of weekdays spent locally and away
Qualifications (must haves):
Ability to carry items up to 60lbs throughout the day
A commitment to safety, a high level of spatial awareness and strong critical thinking skills
Comfortable working long days and the ability to be flexible with scheduling
Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions, year-round
Willing to work out of town regularly
Reliable transportation to and from work
Registered for Electrical Apprenticeship, or interest and ability to become an Electrical Apprentice
A valid class 5 license, with a clean driving record
CLB 7/Intermediate is the minimum English level required for safety protocol
Exhibit a high level of responsibility, honesty, alertness and accountability
Amicable and respectful towards other team members
Assets (preferred but not required):
Prior construction/trades experience is preferred, on job training will be provided
Solar training and/or solar installation certification (SAIT, NAIT, NABCEP, SEI, etc)
Solar installation experience
Valid Fall Protection training/certification (otherwise provided by SkyFire)
Prior training or safety certifications i.e heavy equipment, electrical safety, first aid.
