If you're skilled at turning complex information into clear, useful content that helps people understand what they need to know and what to do next, this role could be a great fit.
Smart, Savvy + Associates is pleased to partner with Technical Safety BC in their search for a Business Partner, Client Development.
In this newly created role, you'll create content that helps Technical Safety BC's clients navigate technical information, regulatory requirements and changes that affect how they work. You'll develop everything from videos, guides and checklists to FAQs and digital resources, taking complicated subject matter and making it practical, accessible and easy to act on.
Working alongside specialists in marketing, communications, and education, you'll determine the right approach for the problem at hand. You'll bring together elements of content strategy, communications and education, thinking about where clients are in their journey, what they need in that moment, and how to reach them in a way that works.
What You’ll Do
Create content that makes complex information easier to understand and act on
- Turn technical and regulatory information into clear, practical client resources, including videos, guides, FAQs, checklists, and microlearning.
- Develop content for the channels clients already use, from the website and client portal to notifications and campaigns.
Understand the problem before creating the solution
- Work with internal teams to understand what clients need to know, where they’re getting stuck, and what behaviour needs to change.
- Look across the client journey for opportunities to improve understanding, adoption, and compliance.
- Use client feedback, data, and results to understand what’s working and refine your approach.
Be a strategic partner
- Collaborate with teams across Technical Safety BC, including Marketing, Communications, Education, Operations, Product and Technical Standards.
- Work closely with subject matter experts to translate their knowledge into content clients can understand and use.
- Ask good questions, challenge assumptions, and help stakeholders determine the right solution, rather than simply delivering what’s been requested.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in content strategy, communications, education, instructional design, client enablement, or a related field.
- Strong content creation skills, with the ability to take complex subject matter and make it clear, useful, and actionable.
- Experience developing content across different formats and channels, ideally including digital resources, video or learning content.
- An understanding of the client or customer journey and how content, communications and education can influence behaviour.
- Strong stakeholder skills and the confidence to ask questions, provide recommendations and influence without authority.
- A strategic mindset and a hands-on approach. You’re as comfortable figuring out what should be created as you are helping create it.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and keep others informed along the way.
- A degree in Communications, Education, Instructional Design or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience in a technical, regulatory, or similarly complex environment.
- Experience with adult learning, microlearning or behavioural insights.
- Familiarity with emerging content technologies and AI-enabled tools.
