Job Overview
We are a leading sports retailer and supplier of custom sports uniforms and team apparel, and we’re looking for a Retail Store Manager who is passionate about delivering an exceptional customer experience while leading a high-performing retail team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the store, including sales performance, customer service, staff leadership, scheduling, training, inventory management, merchandising, cash handling, and maintaining a safe, organized, and professional store environment.
The Retail Store Manager plays a key role in achieving sales targets, driving profitability, and ensuring operational excellence. They are responsible for coaching and developing team members, maintaining strong product knowledge, executing company standards and policies, and creating a positive workplace culture that reflects our commitment to customers, clubs, and community partners. The role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to support store operations, provide leadership during peak periods, and ensure consistent oversight of the retail team.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring a clean, safe, organized, and customer-focused environment.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve escalated customer concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Achieve store sales, profitability, and performance targets through effective leadership and execution.
- Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and develop retail team members.
- Create staff schedules and manage labour costs to support business needs and customer service standards.
- Foster a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture.
- Be available to work evenings, weekends, and peak business periods as required to effectively lead the store, support employees, and ensure a consistent management presence during key operating hours.
- Monitor store performance, analyze sales metrics, and implement strategies to improve results.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through effective inventory management, receiving, replenishment, cycle counts, and loss prevention practices.
- Monitor inventory requirements and purchase inventory as required to maintain appropriate stock levels, support sales objectives, and meet customer demand.
- Ensure visual merchandising, promotional displays, and overall store presentation meet company standards.
- Oversee cash handling, point-of-sale procedures, store opening and closing, and operational controls.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, workplace health and safety requirements, and operational procedures.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, local clubs, teams, coaches, and community partners.
- Support team and club sales initiatives by identifying business development opportunities and referring leads to the appropriate departments.
- Support company events, activations, club initiatives, and other business activities as required, including occasional travel between company locations, customer sites, and vendor facilities.
- Communicate effectively with company leadership regarding store performance, staffing, and operational opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3+ years of retail management, retail leadership, or customer service management experience.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop employees in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated success achieving sales targets and driving store performance.
- Experience with staff scheduling, performance management, and team development.
- Strong understanding of retail operations, inventory management, merchandising, and loss prevention.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with a high level of accountability.
- Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems, Microsoft Office, and retail technology platforms.
- Passion for soccer and experience working with sports teams, clubs, or community organizations is considered an asset.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the needs of the business.
- Valid driver's licence and ability to travel occasionally between company locations, customer sites, and vendor facilities.
