Position: Life Skills Instructor- Enrichment Program- Permanent Part-time
Location: Cloverdale/community
Hours: 11 Hours per week- ability to work additional casual hours
Salary: $26.78 to start

Description Of Position
Sources Community Living provides all-encompassing care for individuals who have been referred to us by Community Living British Columbia. We are currently recruiting a Life Skills Instructor to work at the Enrichment Program, providing daytime activities and community access opportunities to adults with developmental disabilities. This position requires an individual who is patient, enthusiastic, and inclusive. Our mission is to enable the pursuit of the best quality of life possible for our clients. We do this by fostering independence, well-being and social participation.
Reporting to the Enrichment Assistant Manager and Manager of Community Inclusion Services
General Responsibilities
- Ability to build relationships
- Aid and support (personal care, feeding, and transferring as needed)
- Work as a collaborative team and independently
Program-specific Responsibilities
- Keep notes and review progress
- Maintain a safe work environment for both staff and service users alike, including following and monitoring all positive behaviour support strategies as they apply to clients in service. This includes being confident and familiar with Non-Violent Crisis Intervention material.

Qualifications
- You have empathy and are self-aware
- Take initiative and work with integrity
- You have the physical ability to engage in a variety of employment-based supports and community-based activities
- You are knowledgeable or have experience in areas of mental health and development disabilities
- You have a valid driver's license, a Class 4 License is required or required to be obtained within 3 months of hire.
