Role Description The Production Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Orillia, ON, responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations and ensuring products are produced safely, on time, and to quality standards. This role plans and monitors production schedules, manages workflow, and coordinates resources to meet customer demand and delivery commitments. The Production Manager leads and coaches production teams, supports training and performance development, and promotes a culture of continuous improvement. Day-to-day activities include tracking KPIs, optimizing processes, collaborating with procurement and logistics, maintaining equipment and facility readiness, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. The role also participates in budget planning, cost control, and implementation of operational best practices aligned with SPIETH America’s commitment to excellence.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in production or manufacturing management, including scheduling, workflow planning, and resource allocation.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise, coach, and motivate diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of quality control methods, continuous improvement practices (e.g., Lean, 5S), and process optimization.
- Proficiency in using production or ERP systems, spreadsheets, and basic data analysis tools to track performance and report results.
- Solid understanding of workplace health and safety standards and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration with engineering, procurement, logistics, and customer service.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on meeting deadlines and customer requirements.
- Post-secondary education in industrial engineering, manufacturing, operations management, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience in sports equipment, industrial products, or related manufacturing environments is an asset.
- Ability to work on-site in Orillia, ON, and adapt to evolving business needs and priorities.
