SPS West provides industrial product solutions. We’re looking for a Technical Sales Support Specialist who can turn customer requirements into accurate product selections, clear quotations and well-coordinated orders.
You’ll work with customers, sales representatives and suppliers to answer technical questions, source products and find practical alternatives. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys investigating a problem, working through the details and following through until it’s resolved.
You’ll support the process from initial inquiry through quotation, order entry, purchasing and delivery, working closely with our sales, purchasing, warehouse, logistics and engineering teams.
What you’ll do
- Understand customer applications and requirements, and recommend suitable products and configurations.
- Review RFQs, datasheets, drawings, catalogues and other technical documents to confirm specifications and product suitability.
- Prepare accurate, competitive quotations that account for pricing, margins, availability, lead times and delivery requirements.
- Research and source products through manufacturers, distributors and suppliers. Compare pricing, technical information, certifications and availability.
- Investigate unfamiliar products and technical questions, working with suppliers and internal specialists to resolve outstanding details.
- Identify suitable alternatives when products are unavailable, discontinued, delayed or unsuitable, and communicate any differences clearly.
- Review purchase orders for accurate part numbers, quantities, specifications, pricing and delivery requirements.
- Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to resolve product, sourcing and delivery issues.
- Keep customers and sales representatives informed, and proactively follow up on open quotations, inquiries and supplier commitments.
- Maintain accurate CRM and business-system records, including contacts, accounts, quotations, orders, supplier communications and changes.
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years of relevant experience in technical sales support, inside sales, an order desk, technical customer service or a related role, preferably in industrial distribution, manufacturing, equipment or technical products.
- Working knowledge of industrial products, equipment, components and applications, with the ability to interpret technical documentation and recommend suitable products.
- Experience preparing quotations, sourcing products, processing orders and working directly with manufacturers and suppliers.
- Commercial awareness, including an understanding of pricing, margins, lead times and supplier relationships.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn and use ERP, CRM, inventory and quotation systems.
- Clear written and verbal communication, strong organization and the ability to manage multiple inquiries, quotations and orders.
How you work
You respond promptly, take ownership of outstanding questions and maintain accuracy when priorities compete. You’re comfortable working independently, researching unfamiliar requests, asking the right questions and following through on commitments. Details matter to you, from a single part number to a promised delivery date.

Post-secondary education in business, engineering technology, industrial technology, supply chain or a related field is an asset. Equivalent industry experience will be considered. Product-specific or manufacturer training is also an asset.
