The Research Operations Lead (FECAL MICROBIOTA TRANSPLANTATION (FMT) Program) will provide dedicated project leadership to support the planning, coordination and advancement of FMT-based microbiome therapeutics. This 12-month position will support operational and regulatory planning, stakeholder engagement, proposal development and the coordination of activities needed to move FMT-related initiatives from concept toward implementation.
Working with the scientific leadership team, institutional partners and external collaborators, the Research Operations Lead (FMT Program) will help bring together scientific, clinical, operational and commercial expertise into a coordinated FMT program. The role will establish the foundations required to support implementation while ensuring that workstreams remain aligned with program goals, governance, timelines and strategic objectives.
Responsiblities And Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain the integrated project plan, budget, milestones, reporting framework and risk register for the FMT Program.
- Serve as the central coordination point across participating organizations, institutional partners, leaders, consultants and workstreams.
- Lead planning and coordination across regulated FMT production, product development, research translation and partnership workstreams.
- Coordinate infrastructure, regulatory documentation and operational readiness for a safe, scalable national FMT production platform.
- Coordinate translational research, clinical studies, data systems, sample access frameworks and multicentre collaborations.
- Support strategic partnerships, intellectual property, licensing, commercialization planning and long-term program sustainability.
- Prepare funding submissions, governance documents, implementation plans, briefing materials, reports and stakeholder presentations.
- Monitor milestones, manage risks, coordinate meetings, support compliance and provide guidance to assigned staff, trainees and students.
Knowledge And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant area of study (Life Sciences, Engineering, Pharmacy, or related field)
- Five years of relevant experience (health/research industry, pharmaceutical manufacturing, biotech)
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and balance multiple projects to meet project deadlines.
- Experience in Good Manufacturing Practices preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Experience working in a health care setting would be an asset
- Ability to collaborate with researchers and hospital staff
- Ability to follow processes with a strong attention to detail
- Well developed organizational skills with the ability to set priorities to meet deadlines for multiple projects
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Leadership, training, and mentoring skills
Immunization Requirements
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
