Some of what you will do:
This role will manage facility operations nationally for Staples Canada. The role will meet or exceed defined customer service requirements, with team members following established processes for the effective triage, vendor dispatch, follow-up and resolution of facility work orders. This role is also responsible for keeping retail facilities well maintained and operational. The incumbent will be responsible for the development, analysis and reporting of performance metrics related to facility operations, as well as providing coaching and development for the team.
Specifically, You Will:
Coaching and Development: 30%
- Provide coaching, role modeling and development to multiple direct reports Execute and delivery of performance appraisals in accordance with Staples Policy
- Create annual objectives for team and hold individuals accountable for creation of quarterly goals to support functional team goals, report on results and provide timely feedback
- Handle any service escalations - nationally
Effective Process: 30%
Oversee Maintenance responsibilities - Retail - ensuring maintenance schedules are accurate and executed accordingly this includes reviewing all contracts, scope of work and participating in any maintenance related RFP for the Retail locations
Oversee facilities coordinator for Retail and ensure proper coverage (day to day and on a project basis)
Own R&M service agreements nationally and ensure high degree of service and execution – includes vendor management, scope creation, SME for sourcing
Create and maintain facility standards for retail workspaces, washrooms, common areas and back-of-house spaces, including cleanliness, supplies and service expectations.
Provide context for capital and expense budget creation (annually) and reporting (monthly) to ensure adherence to budget and to maintain a standard of condition for retail.
Oversee Retail WOs – timeliness, costs, and contractor selection
Lead CMMS implementation and ongoing ownership, including workflows, process design, system adoption, data integrity, user training, vendor compliance and performance reporting continuous improvement.
Safety and Security: 5%
- Ensure sites are properly secured at all times
Ensure and verify proper issuance FOBS when required (trades, visitors)
Contact appropriate Facilities personnel when required for any facilities emergency
