Role Description The Sr. Systems Administrator, System Architect, Infrastructure Administrator is a full-time, on-site role based in Brampton, ON. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining core IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networks, and related systems to ensure high availability and performance. Daily responsibilities include monitoring systems, performing advanced troubleshooting, applying patches and upgrades, and managing backups, disaster recovery, and security controls. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams to assess business requirements, architect scalable solutions, and provide technical support and guidance to users and IT colleagues. The individual also documents configurations, maintains standards and procedures, and participates in capacity planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong System Administration skills, including server configuration, operating system management, and infrastructure maintenance.
- Proficiency in Troubleshooting and Technical Support to diagnose and resolve complex system and application issues.
- Experience with Network Administration, including routing, switching, firewalls, and network performance monitoring.
- Solid foundation in Information Technology principles, best practices, and security frameworks.
- Experience designing and architecting scalable, resilient IT infrastructures in enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of virtualization platforms, cloud or hybrid environments, and storage solutions.
- Familiarity with automation and scripting tools to streamline system management and deployment.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, CompTIA) are an asset.
- Previous experience in manufacturing or industrial environments is beneficial.
