Stellar Recruitment is looking for experienced Marine Mechanical Engineers and Marine Electrical Engineers to join an established marine engineering team with offices in Burnaby and Victoria, BC. These are primarily office-based engineering and design roles, supporting new vessel designs, refits, and marine engineering projects. We are hiring at Junior, Intermediate, and Senior levels.
The key requirement is marine industry experience - ideally within shipbuilding, ship repair, vessel design, marine engineering, or a shipyard environment. If you have a strong marine engineering background and are looking for your next opportunity, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Develop and support marine mechanical or electrical engineering designs for new vessels and refit projects
- Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, reports, and technical documentation
- Work with naval architects, engineers, designers, and project stakeholders
- Support vessel systems design, equipment selection, analysis, and production-level deliverables
- Use AutoCAD and relevant 3D modelling/design software
- Senior engineers will lead technical work, review deliverables, mentor junior staff, and support project coordination
- Mechanical engineers may occasionally attend vessels and shipyards for inspections, surveys, scanning, and commissioning support
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Marine engineering, shipbuilding, ship repair, or vessel design experience strongly preferred
- Experience with marine mechanical or electrical systems
- AutoCAD experience required; experience with 3D CAD software is an asset
- EIT or P.Eng. eligibility preferred; P.Eng. required for senior Marine Mechanical Engineers
- Strong communication, technical writing, and problem-solving skills
- Junior, Intermediate, and Senior candidates will be considered
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
Salary: $70,000–$110,000/year, depending on discipline, experience, and seniority
Location: Burnaby or Victoria, BC
Position: Full-time, office-based with occasional site visits for Marine Mechanical Engineers
