Founding Community & Content Marketing Manager
Canada’s Wellness & Longevity LIVE Event
Toronto, ON | Hybrid | Full-Time
Build Canada’s Next Great Wellness Brand
This isn't a traditional marketing job.
Strategy Institute, one of Canada’s leading independent conference producers with nearly 30 years of experience, is launching Canada’s Wellness & Longevity LIVE Event in Toronto in June 2027.
We’re building more than a three-day event. We’re creating a premium wellness destination bringing together leading experts, innovative brands, practitioners, creators and thousands of health-conscious consumers who want to live healthier, longer and better lives.
Our ambition is to build a trusted, year-round wellness brand and community - helping people discover credible experts, useful ideas, emerging innovations and the people shaping the future of health and wellness.
We’re looking for a community builder who happens to be an excellent marketer.
The Opportunity
As our Founding Community & Content Marketing Manager, you’ll help make the event a brand people know, trust, talk about and want to be part of - long before the doors open.
This is not a desk-based social media role.
You’ll become part of Toronto’s wellness ecosystem: meeting studio owners, practitioners, creators, founders and community leaders; attending events; visiting studios and clinics; building partnerships; interviewing experts; developing ambassadors; creating content; and finding creative ways to reach the right people.
You’ll work closely with our conference, content, marketing and creative teams to turn our experts, speakers, ideas and brands into engaging year-round content.
Your mission: Build buzz. Build trust. Build community.
What You’ll Do
Build the Community
- Build relationships across Toronto’s health, fitness, wellness and longevity communities
- Develop networks of practitioners, creators, founders and wellness leaders
- Recruit ambassadors and community champions
- Attend relevant events and visit studios, gyms, clinics and recovery spaces
- Create meetups, preview experiences, pop-ups and community activations
- Develop opportunities for year-round community engagement
Build Strategic Partnerships
Create meaningful collaborations with organizations that already have the audiences we want to reach, including:
Fitness studios • Yoga & Pilates • Running & cycling clubs • Recovery spaces • Longevity clinics • Women’s health communities • Nutritionists & practitioners • Universities • Sports organizations • Corporate wellness • Podcasts & newsletters • Wellness creators
Partnerships could include member offers, studio activations, expert events, challenges, content collaborations, giveaways, newsletter partnerships, social campaigns, pop-ups or entirely new ideas.
The goal is mutually valuable partnerships that grow the brand organically.
Create Buzz
Make the event feel like something exciting is happening well before June 2027.
Develop ideas such as community events, wellness challenges, studio collaborations, expert evenings, founder interviews, speaker reveals, pop-ups, ambassador campaigns, creator collaborations, behind-the-scenes stories, giveaways and local activations.
We want experimentation and creativity.
What could we do that our community would genuinely want to participate in, share or tell someone else about?
Build Trust Through Content
Wellness can be confusing. Consumers face new products, conflicting advice, emerging science and questionable claims.
We want this brand to become a trusted source.
Working with our Conference & Content Producer, you’ll turn expert knowledge into useful, engaging content across topics such as:
Longevity • Women’s health • Fitness & strength • Nutrition • Sleep • Recovery • Mental wellbeing • Metabolic health • Cognitive performance • Preventative health • Diagnostics & biomarkers • Wellness technology • Lifestyle • Emerging wellness science
The tone should be credible without being clinical, aspirational without being superficial, and useful without being preachy.
Turn Experts Into Content
You’ll have access to physicians, researchers, practitioners, founders, athletes and wellness leaders.
You’ll help turn their expertise into:
- Expert interviews and short-form video
- Social content
- Articles and newsletters
- Recurring content series
- Quotes, ideas and stories
- Repurposed content from longer conversations
You don’t need to be a professional videographer, designer or editor. What matters is that you recognize a great story and know how to turn it into content people want to consume.
Grow Our Organic Channels
Build the brand’s audience and voice across:
Instagram • LinkedIn • YouTube • Email/Newsletter • Website • Emerging channels
You’ll manage the organic content calendar, work with creators and experts, engage with the community and test what resonates.
We care about audience growth - but even more about building the right audience: people who genuinely engage with the brand and ultimately want to experience the event.
Our wider marketing team will manage paid acquisition and ticket-conversion campaigns. Your role is to build the attention, credibility, community and organic demand that makes those efforts work harder.
Build the Ambassador Network
Identify trusted voices within the communities we want to reach - fitness instructors, practitioners, physicians, nutritionists, coaches, creators, athletes, founders, community organizers and podcast hosts.
Build genuine relationships and give them reasons to become advocates.
We care more about trusted voices than follower counts.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re less interested in your exact job title than what you’ve built and how you operate.
You may come from community or content marketing, consumer marketing, wellness or fitness, lifestyle brands, experiential marketing, hospitality, creator or brand partnerships, membership businesses, events or consumer startups.
You might already:
- Follow wellness, longevity, fitness, recovery and nutrition trends
- Know Toronto’s wellness scene
- Spend time at studios, wellness spaces and community events
- Love discovering interesting people, brands and ideas
- Naturally connect people
- Enjoy creating and telling stories
- Feel comfortable approaching people you’ve never met
- Have ideas about brands, communities and people we should know
You’re curious, outgoing, entrepreneurial, creative, highly organized and a strong communicator. You’re comfortable on camera and behind it, relentless about follow-up, and genuinely enjoy bringing people together.
Experience We’d Value
Experience in several of these areas is valuable:
Community building • Content creation • Consumer marketing • Partnerships • Social media • Email/newsletters • Creator partnerships • Brand activations • Experiential marketing • Video interviewing • Wellness/fitness/lifestyle • Consumer events
Wellness experience is valuable, but we’re also interested in exceptional community builders from adjacent consumer industries.
What This Role Is NOT
This is not primarily:
- A paid-media or performance-marketing role
- A ticket-sales position
- A traditional conference-marketing role
- A job where you spend five days a week scheduling social posts
Our team already has specialists focused on conference production and audience acquisition.
We’re looking for someone who can create the community, energy, trust and word of mouth around this brand.
What Success Looks Like
By the inaugural event, you’ll have helped:
- Establish the event as an exciting, credible new wellness brand
- Build an engaged organic audience and subscriber community
- Develop a strong network of community partners
- Recruit ambassadors and advocates
- Build relationships with practitioners, creators, founders and wellness leaders
- Create a substantial library of credible wellness content
- Generate ongoing organic awareness and conversation
- Create successful grassroots activations and collaborations
- Turn our experts into a powerful year-round content engine
- Build a community genuinely excited to attend the inaugural event
We’ll measure success through community growth, engagement, partnership reach, subscriber growth, referrals, content performance, organic traffic and the contribution these activities make to the event.
Why Join?
You’ll be joining at the very beginning.
You won’t inherit someone else’s community, content strategy or playbook.
You’ll help create them.
You’ll work with leading experts, entrepreneurs, creators, practitioners and global wellness brands while helping shape a new consumer brand with significant ambitions.
And if the event succeeds, the opportunity goes far beyond an annual event.
We’re building toward a year-round platform encompassing content, community, experiences and one of Canada’s most important gatherings around health and wellness.
If building that from the ground up excites you, we’d love to meet you.
