Responsibilities
Register patients, verify health cards, schedule appointments, enter patient demographics, prepare charts and billing sheets, and check patients in. Handle telephone inquiries, filing, photocopying, faxing and mailing reports, retrieve clinic charts, and record and type meeting minutes.
Requirements
Requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Education, plus one year of community college. Recent related experience is preferred; applicants should type 40 words per minute with no more than a 5% error rate and have computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of the Patient Appointment Scheduling system and electronic patient records is preferred, medical terminology is an asset, and strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills are expected.
