Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Installer role located in Port Elgin, ON. The Installer will be responsible for installing blinds, shades, and awnings at customer locations, ensuring accurate measurements, secure mounting, and a professional finish. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing work orders, preparing tools and materials, traveling to job sites, removing existing coverings when needed, and performing clean, efficient installations. The role involves troubleshooting installation issues, providing basic product use and care instructions to customers, and maintaining a tidy work area. The Installer will also collaborate with the sales and scheduling teams, follow safety procedures, and complete documentation or reports related to each job.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret installation instructions, work orders, and basic measurements, including using tape measures and hand tools accurately.
- Experience with hands-on work such as construction, carpentry, glazing, or general home improvement, or a strong willingness to learn these skills.
- Strong customer service skills, including clear communication, professionalism on-site, and the ability to address basic customer questions or concerns.
- Physical ability to lift and carry products, work on ladders, and perform repetitive tasks safely over the course of a workday.
- Basic problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure precise, high-quality installations and safe operation of products.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from job sites in and around Port Elgin, ON.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage time effectively, and follow company safety and quality standards.
- Previous experience in window coverings or awning installation is an asset but not required; on-the-job training may be provided.
