Reporting to the District Manager and collaborating daily with the Delivery Coordinator, the primary responsibility of the Propane Specialist is to deliver propane. This role also handles general utility tasks around the bulk plant, such as cylinder filling, equipment maintenance, and assisting service technicians. Safety and top-tier customer service are the top priorities.
What you'll do:
- Bulk Deliveries: Transport and transfer bulk propane safely from the truck to customer storage tanks. Follow all strict local, state/provincial, and federal hazardous materials guidelines.
- Utility & Plant Duties: Help maintain the bulk plant. Fill cylinders, paint or maintenance tanks, and assist with yard upkeep when not on the road. Plant duty will require training that is provided.
- Notify the Delivery Coordinator of route, customer or call frequency changes and adjustments.
- Conduct and maintain the highest standard of safety in all activities and operations ensuring compliance with the regulatory bodies and relevant regulations. This includes conducting and, if applicable documenting, pre and post vehicle inspections, site inspections and visual tank inspections.
- Documentation: Accurately complete delivery tickets, meter logs, and hours-of-service compliance paperwork via onboard systems or paper.
- Maintain equipment to the highest level of safety standards, reporting any mechanical issues to the District Manager/Delivery Coordinator.
- Provide exceptional customer service by promoting the company and its products and services positively and maintaining good customer relations and corporate image
- Present a respectable and clean corporate image maintaining a clean and organized vehicle.
- Load and unload propane tanks and equipment from Superior facilities and customer locations. Determine load weights and check against lifting capacity to prevent overload.
- Safely and effectively perform tank evacuations, including hooking hoses to and from stationary tanks to the bulk truck for propane transfer, lifting and securing tanks and properly using compressor/pumps.
- Weekly On-Call Rotation: Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours or emergency deliveries
What you bring:
- High school diploma
- Minimum of one (1) years of commercial driving experience
- Winter driving experience required
- Possess valid Class 3 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract
- Ability to repetitively lift 60 lbs on a regular basis
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
- Strong customer Service skills
- Knowledge and ability to use computers, specifically on board truck computers
Salary: $25.23- $31.52 hourly (based on skills, experience, qualifications, and geography).
