At Survalent we are seeking a Technical Trainer to develop and deliver effective technical training for internal teams and customers. What are we looking for?
▪Able to work in-office Monday through Thursday and from home on Fridays
▪Work closely with Product Management, Product Knowledge, Development, Support, Project Delivery, and other subject matter experts to validate the technical accuracy and relevance of training content.
▪Delivering high quality and engaging training in physical and virtual classroom environment
▪Perform technical reviews and testing of training materials and exercises prior to publication or delivery.
▪Traveling to deliver training at customer sites may be required approximately 25% of the time in Canada as well as internationally
▪Support customer conferences, workshops, webinars, and other technical enablement events as required.
▪Develop and maintain hands-on SCADA training environments and exercises that allow learners to safely practice configuration, operation, troubleshooting, and other course objectives.
▪Review and update training materials and LMS content to align with product releases, new functionality, product changes, and current recommended practices.
▪Adapt training delivery and technical explanations based on audience experience, including new users, experienced operators, administrators, engineers, system specialists, and internal employees.
▪Follow established processes for protecting customer information and ensuring training demonstrations use approved, sanitized/scrubbed environments and data.
▪Assist with training program development tailored to different audiences, including beginner, intermediate, and advanced users.
▪Assess the trainees' understanding and provide feedback for improvement.
▪Keep up to date with the latest developments in SCADA technology and industry best practices.
▪Assist in troubleshooting and resolving SCADA-related issues that arise during training as needed.
▪Other duties as required.
Education, Knowledge, Skilled and Abilities
▪Diploma/Certificate in information technology, electrical engineering or SCADA related field
▪Comfortable speaking to large groups of learners in person as well as virtually
▪Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn complex software applications and system architectures.
▪Strong facilitation and session-management skills, including the ability to manage learners with varying levels of technical knowledge.
▪Ability to respond effectively to unexpected technical questions while distinguishing between confirmed information and information requiring SME validation.
▪Experience creating and editing training presentations and scripts
▪Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) to manage courses, learners, assessments, and training records.
▪Knowledge of Articulate or similar SCORM file creation applications is an asset
▪Knowledge of a SCADA/OMS/DMS (ADMS) platform is an asset
This is a full-time permanent position reporting to the Product Knowledge and Enablement Manager. The salary range for this role is $65,000 – $75,000.
