Senior Digital Architect contract opportunity supporting application modernization, architecture governance, cloud platforms, data and AI initiatives.
- Full-time onsite work in Edmonton, five days per week.

What & Why:
Our client is seeking a Senior Digital Architect to support its Technology Services Applications, Data & AI portfolio. You will guide the modernization, integration and ongoing support of applications and digital services. The role combines enterprise and solution architecture with hands-on technical leadership, business and systems analysis, application support governance, and data and AI enablement. You will work across multiple applications and initiatives, helping teams make sound technical decisions while improving reliability, reuse, security and long-term supportability.
Who:
You will collaborate with development teams, application analysts, operational support teams, business stakeholders, vendors, architecture governance committees and senior leadership. The environment includes project delivery and ongoing Application Management Services. Your work will connect architecture decisions with implementation, production readiness and sustainable support.
You:
You are an experienced architect who can develop a technology roadmap, assess implementation details and explain technical trade-offs clearly. You bring strong cloud and application architecture experience, including Azure Red Hat OpenShift. You are comfortable facilitating discovery sessions, reviewing designs and code, supporting production operations, mentoring technical resources and presenting recommendations to decision-makers.
Critical Experience Requirements:
- A college or bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- TOGAF certification.
- At least eight years of experience leading cross-functional Agile product teams.
- At least five years of experience architecting, managing and maintaining Azure Red Hat OpenShift clusters.
- At least eight years of experience identifying and assessing requirements across multiple architecture domains.
- At least seven years of experience documenting application architectures in enterprise IT environments.
- At least seven years of experience planning, designing, implementing and supporting platform solutions.
- At least eight years of experience encompassing leadership, planning, estimating and presenting ideas.
- Ability to work onsite in Edmonton five days per week.
- Willingness to complete the required conflict-of-interest attestation and GoA Enhanced Security Clearance, including criminal-record and credit checks.
Nice to Have:
- Experience developing application architecture standards.
- Application architecture experience involving amCharts.
- Mobile solution architecture experience.
- Experience applying OWASP Top Ten web application security practices.
- Experience with architecture review boards, production application support and operational governance.
- Relevant experience supporting data, analytics or AI-enabled services.
Compensation:
Hourly contract compensation will be discussed based on experience.
