Senior IT Project Manager contract opportunity leading strategic technology and business transformation initiatives for a Saskatchewan provincial government organization.
- 100% onsite in Regina, Saskatchewan.

What & Why:
Our client is seeking experienced Project Managers to join its centralized IT Project Delivery Office. You will lead initiatives supporting multiple government ministries, bringing structure, accountability and clear reporting to complex technology delivery. Projects may include application modernization, cloud solutions, infrastructure upgrades, cybersecurity, data and analytics, business transformation and digital services. You will own delivery across the project lifecycle while managing scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, vendors and organizational change.
Who:
You will collaborate with ministry stakeholders, business leaders, technical teams, procurement professionals, external vendors, service partners and executive sponsors. The environment requires formal governance, documented approvals, audit readiness and consistent communication. You will support executive steering committees and other decision-making forums, ensuring leaders have the information they need to resolve issues and approve changes.
You:
You are an experienced IT Project Manager who combines delivery discipline with strong leadership and stakeholder management. You can coordinate complex technical work, manage competing priorities and explain risks and decisions clearly to both technical teams and senior leaders. You have direct experience managing public-sector projects or comparable environments with formal governance and accountability requirements.
Critical Experience Requirements:
- PMP or PRINCE2 certification, with a copy of the certificate.
- Ability to work full-time, 100% onsite in Regina.
- Substantial IT project management experience. More than 10 years is strongly preferred and heavily weighted in the evaluation.
- At least three complex IT projects managed within the last five years, involving multiple stakeholders, vendors and complex cloud integrations.
- Public-sector IT delivery experience involving governance, approvals and audit requirements.
- Experience establishing or supporting executive steering committees, project boards and decision-making forums.
- Ownership of executive reporting, project plans, schedules, budgets, status reports and change controls.
- Experience managing project teams, systems development, effort and cost estimates, resources and dependencies.
- Strong stakeholder communication, facilitation, negotiation and relationship management.
- Experience integrating change management, stakeholder readiness, communications, training and adoption into IT delivery.
- Experience delivering projects using Agile, Waterfall or Hybrid approaches.
- Three professional references able to validate relevant project experience.
Nice to Have:
- Direct Government of Saskatchewan experience and familiarity with its technical and business environment.
- Delivery experience across multiple ministries or comparable public-sector organizations.
- Relevant experience across application modernization, cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data and analytics, or citizen-facing digital services.
- A change management certification supported by practical implementation experience.
Compensation:
Hourly contract compensation will be discussed based on experience and engagement structure. Rate expectations must account for any travel and accommodation needed to work onsite in Regina.
