Middle Office Business Analyst – Trade Data & Regulatory Reporting - Capital Markets
Location: Toronto (hybrid - 2-3 days/week in office)
Contract: 6 months with potential to extend

T4: 64 - 68
IC: 75-80
What You'll Be Doing
- Gather, analyze and document business requirements for trade-data, regulatory and data-quality initiatives.
- Work with Middle Office and Operations teams to understand trade lifecycles, processes and data flows.
- Analyze and reconcile trade data across multiple systems to identify discrepancies, gaps and quality issues.
- Leverage SQL to query, validate, reconcile and investigate large and complex datasets.
- Perform root-cause analysis on data defects and work with Technology teams to develop sustainable solutions.
- Define data-quality rules, controls and KPIs to improve data accuracy and integrity.
- Support regulatory reporting initiatives and help ensure trade data is complete, accurate and delivered within required timelines.
- Develop business requirements, functional specifications, data mappings, process flows and user stories.
- Coordinate across business, technology, compliance, risk and data-governance stakeholders.
- Support system testing, UAT and post-implementation validation.
- Track issues, dependencies and remediation activities through resolution.
- Communicate findings, progress and project updates to business and technology stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- Experience as a Business Analyst within Capital Markets, Middle Office or Trade Operations.
- Strong understanding of trade data and the end-to-end trade lifecycle.
- Experience supporting regulatory, compliance, data-governance or data-quality initiatives.
- Strong SQL skills with experience querying, analyzing and reconciling complex datasets.
- Hands-on experience with data validation, data-quality analysis and root-cause investigation.
- Ability to translate business needs into detailed requirements, data mappings and process documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Comfortable working with both business and technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of Capital Markets regulatory reporting requirements.
- Experience with asset classes such as Fixed Income, Equities, FX or Derivatives.
- Understanding of data lineage, data controls and data-governance frameworks.
- Experience within a large bank or highly regulated financial-services organization.
- Experience working in an Agile environment, with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
