Position Summary
The Pricing & Risk Analyst will support the development, monitoring, and optimization of pricing strategies and risk management initiatives across the organization. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Pricing, Risk & Analytics, this role will leverage data and analytical insights to evaluate portfolio/product performance
Position Functions:
- Analyze pricing, claims, loss, profitability, and portfolio performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Support the development and maintenance of pricing models, methodologies, and analytical tools.
- Conduct pricing analysis to assess product profitability, competitiveness, and financial performance.
- Monitor key risk and performance indicators and identify emerging trends or areas requiring further investigation.
- Provide recommendations towards financial modelling to evaluate the potential impact of pricing or business decisions.
- Analyze historical data to identify patterns in customer behaviour, claims experience, product performance, and risk.
- Prepare regular reporting and dashboards related to pricing, risk, profitability, and portfolio performance.
- Partner with Finance, Sales, Operations, Product, and other business teams to support pricing and risk-related initiatives.
- Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and business planning activities as they relate to pricing and portfolio performance.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis and provide data-driven recommendations to leadership.
- Support improvements to data quality, reporting processes, analytical tools, and pricing methodologies.
- Clearly communicate analytical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
- Approximately 2–5 years of experience in pricing, risk, financial analysis, business analytics, or a related analytical role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modelling, formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Experience working with SQL and querying large datasets is considered an asset.
- Understanding of pricing methodologies, profitability analysis, forecasting, and risk concepts.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify trends and anomalies within data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present analytical findings clearly.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
