Role Description The Swim Instructor is a part-time, on-site role based in Toronto, ON. In this position, the instructor will plan and deliver engaging swim lessons for children of various ages and skill levels, focusing on safety, skill development, and confidence in the water. Daily responsibilities include demonstrating proper swimming techniques, supervising participants during aquatic activities, monitoring pool safety, and responding appropriately to emergencies. The Swim Instructor will communicate progress to students and guardians, maintain a positive and encouraging learning environment, and collaborate with other coaches and staff to support TAC Sports programming and standards.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Swim Instruction and Swim Lessons, with the ability to teach a range of ages and skill levels. Swim instructor certificate
- Candidates should possess solid Swimming and Aquatics skills, including knowledge of stroke techniques, water safety, and pool etiquette.
- Candidates should possess Lifeguarding skills, including current certifications in lifeguarding, CPR, and first aid (or willingness to obtain).
- Previous experience working with children or youth in instructional or coaching settings is highly beneficial.
- Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
- Ability to work on-site in Toronto, ON, follow safety protocols, and collaborate effectively within a team setting.
