Position Summary
Tacten is looking for individuals interested in starting a career in rope access to support current and future projects throughout the Atlantic Region, including Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.
We are focused on building and developing a strong local rope access workforce across Atlantic Canada and encourage motivated individuals residing in Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, or Nova Scotia who are interested in entering the industry, obtaining their IRATA Level 1 certification, and building a long-term career through hands-on industrial experience to apply.
We also welcome applications from currently certified IRATA Rope Access Technicians interested in future opportunities across Atlantic Canada.
Responsibilities
Assist with a variety of industrial maintenance, inspection, and repair activities while working at heights using rope access techniques.
Safely use tools and equipment while performing tasks in a rope access environment.
Work alongside experienced Rope Access Technicians and skilled tradespeople, gaining hands-on experience and developing technical skills.
Assist with rope access rescue procedures when required and within the scope of your training and certification.
Collaborate with crew members and other site personnel to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
Follow all company and site-specific safety procedures, including the proper use, inspection, and care of rope access equipment.
Requirements
We are looking for motivated individuals who are eager to develop a career in rope access. Previous rope access experience is not required, and we encourage applicants who are interested in entering the industry to apply.
IRATA Level 1 Certification or a willingness to obtain certification.
CSO or BSO certification required.
ESC Confined Space Monitor and Entry certification required.
ESC Fall Protection certification is an asset.
Skilled Labourer Ticket or previous industrial experience is an asset, but not required.
Strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn new skills.
Comfortable working at heights and interested in developing technical skills in an industrial environment.
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and following established work procedures.
Ability to work collaboratively with experienced technicians, tradespeople, and other crew members.
Good communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
Valid driver's licence and clean driver's abstract.
Must reside in and be legally eligible to work in Canada.
