Who We Are:
Taiv is a fast-growing tech startup located in Winnipeg, Canada. Taiv uses AI to make business TV more fun, engaging, profitable, and easier to manage, starting with bars and restaurants. We've built proprietary tech that uses computer vision to watch live TV and improve the content with contextually-aware commercials, content, and games. Our tech also automates the manual AV tasks that venues have to do every day, to make bar management easier, standardized, and more profitable. We're venture-capital backed and graduated from Y Combinator, the world's top tech accelerator, in winter 2020. Program alumni include Airbnb, Instacart, DoorDash, etc. (www.ycombinator.com/topcompanies).
We are looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our growing team!
What We're Looking For:
Taiv is growing, and the people we hire decide how well that growth goes. We're adding people across sales, operations, marketing, and engineering in Winnipeg and our U.S. markets. We need someone whose full-time job is running that process to allow Taiv to grow as efficiently as possible.
You'll do the hands-on hiring work on every open role at Taiv. That means reviewing applications, running screener calls, coordinating interviews, and building our presence at campus and community events so good candidates know who we are before a role opens. You'll work closely with hiring managers on every team, and be responsible for helping them achieve their hiring goals. If you love being the person who actually moves candidates through the process, and you want a real say in how a fast-growing company builds its team, this is the perfect opportunity!
What You'll Be Doing:
- Own the top of the funnel. Review every application that comes in through our ATS and move candidates forward or out quickly. No role sits with a pile of unread resumes.
- Run the first interview stage. You'll be the first real conversation a candidate has with Taiv. You'll figure out who can do the job and how well they’ll fit into our culture. Then you'll hand hiring managers a shortlist they can trust, with notes tied to what the role needs.
- Keep interviews moving. Schedule interviews, provide feedback, and keep hiring managers and candidates on the same timeline so every applicant is treated well.
- Go find people. Source candidates directly through LinkedIn, Indeed, referrals, and creative outreach methods, instead of exclusively waiting on inbound.
- Own the pipeline. Establish and maintain a pipeline of candidates across every function of the business for open and future roles.
- Build Taiv's hiring presence. Plan and attend campus career fairs, local tech and community events, and referral pushes. The goal is warm candidates for recurring roles before those roles open.
- Track what's working. Keep our ATS data clean, own the hiring metrics tracker, and send regular pipeline updates on conversion, time in stage, and where hires come from. If something is stuck, you'll know why and how to solve it.
Who You Are:
- You have good judgment about people. You can tell the difference between someone who sounds good and someone who has actually done the work.
- You're proactive. You don't wait for things to come to you, whether that's candidates or the next step in a process.
- You're highly organized. You keep a lot of moving pieces on track at once without anything slipping.
- You're comfortable working with people more senior than you. You speak up, share your view, and communicate effectively.
- You're personable and a clear communicator. People feel comfortable talking to you, and colleagues always know where things stand.
- You're always looking for a better way to do things. You notice what isn't working and use AI tools like Claude and ChatGPT to make processes faster and more efficient.
Your Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, in-house or agency
- Experience hiring for several functions at once (sales, operations, technical, etc.)
- Comfortable working in an applicant tracker system
- Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter and direct sourcing
- Experience running campus recruiting, career fairs, or hiring events is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Startup or high-growth company experience is a plus
- Experience using AI platforms (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) to improve workflow is a plus
