Role Description The Mechanical Engineering Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Toronto, ON. This role is responsible for designing, analyzing, and improving mechanical systems and components using mechanical engineering principles and CAD tools. Day-to-day tasks include developing detailed engineering drawings, performing calculations and simulations, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define specifications, and supporting product development and optimization. The specialist will manage engineering projects, track milestones, coordinate with suppliers or contractors, and ensure compliance with relevant standards and safety requirements. The role also involves preparing technical documentation, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, and providing engineering support for maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
Qualifications
- Strong Mechanical Engineering foundation, including mechanical design, materials, and applied engineering principles.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for modeling, drafting, and reviewing mechanical components and assemblies.
- Analytical Skills for problem-solving, data interpretation, performance evaluation, and root-cause analysis.
- Effective Communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, presenting technical information, and documenting engineering work.
- Project Management capabilities to plan, execute, and monitor engineering projects, manage timelines, and coordinate resources.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or product development environments is highly beneficial.
- Working knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations applicable to mechanical systems.
- Ability to work on-site in Toronto, ON, and collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with engineering software tools (e.g., simulation/FEA, PDM systems) and continuous improvement methodologies is an asset.
