Role Summary
The Director, Strategy & Operations is a high-impact role supporting senior leadership. The team supports strategy development and value creation through major strategic initiatives across asset and wealth management.
This position blends strategy, corporate development, M&A, and transformation, with significant exposure to senior leadership and key business priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct analysis and develop frameworks to address key strategic questions and inform business priorities, including product positioning and growth opportunities.
- Conduct due diligence on potential acquisitions and partnership opportunities.
- Support integration and execution planning for completed transactions.
- Lead and execute major transformation initiatives, improving decision-making and accelerating delivery.
- Manage external partners, including investment banks, consultants, and technology vendors.
- Prepare executive-ready materials to support rigorous decision-making on critical business issues for senior leadership and the board.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, corporate development/M&A, or investment banking, ideally with exposure to asset or wealth management.
- Ability to operate as a strategic thought partner to senior executives, including framing ambiguous problems and developing actionable recommendations.
- Strong M&A and financial modeling skills, including valuation, deal structuring, due diligence, and integration.
- Experience leading or contributing to cross-functional transformation and change initiatives within complex organizations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex strategic and financial information into clear, executive-ready materials.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize large amounts of information into structured insights and frameworks.
Compensation: The base salary range for this position is $165,000–$185,000 CAD annually.
Location: This is an onsite position in downtown Toronto, conveniently located near Union Station.
