TalentWorld is recruiting a Lead Hand – Production in Belleville, Ontario for one of its valued partners.
In this hands-on leadership position, you will support daily production operations, provide direction and training to production employees, and help ensure safety, quality, and productivity remain top priorities. You will work closely with Production Supervisors, Quality, Engineering, and other plant teams to keep production running efficiently while supporting continuous improvement across the operation.

Lead Hand – Production Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership and support to Production Teams while promoting safety, quality, and productivity
- Coordinate employee activities with Production Supervisors according to daily production schedules
- Train and support operators on safety procedures, manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality inspection standards
- Ensure production personnel understand and follow applicable procedures, work instructions, equipment requirements, and check fixture processes
- Support workstation set-ups, including installation, testing, and adjustment of tools and fixtures in presses and process equipment
- Monitor employee adherence to procedures and company policies and provide coaching and performance feedback
- Work closely with Quality Control to ensure first-off inspections and production quality standards are achieved
- Support the investigation and resolution of production and quality concerns
- Participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives focused on production efficiency, quality, scrap, and downtime
- Complete production and inventory reporting accurately and within required timelines
- Monitor production schedules, reporting, and customer delivery requirements using internal production systems
- Track and report daily efficiency, scrap, and downtime
- Record and approve employee hours within the Time & Attendance system
- Assist with equipment inspections, preventative maintenance activities, and identification of potential equipment concerns
- Support Tooling and Process Engineering with production trials, process documentation, and improvement opportunities
- Support workplace safety audits and ensure compliance with applicable health and safety requirements
- Train new Production Associates and provide ongoing support and development to team members
- Ensure Quality Alerts, work instructions, and related production documentation are current and communicated to employees
- Provide production coverage and hands-on support as required
Lead Hand – Production Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Lead Hand, Team Lead, Cell Leader, Line Leader, Production Lead, or similar manufacturing leadership role
- Previous manufacturing or production experience required
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production flow, safety, and quality standards
- Experience training, coaching, and supporting production employees
- Hands-on experience supporting production equipment, workstation set-ups, troubleshooting, or process improvements
- Experience with production reporting, employee timekeeping, or manufacturing systems
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement considered an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments
- Ability to prioritize multiple requirements in a fast-paced production environment
- Strong attention to detail with a hands-on, lead-by-example approach
- Ability to work a permanent straight night shift
