Welder – Off-Shift
Location: Oakville, Ontario
Pay: $30–$35/hour
Schedule: Permanent off-shift, approximately
3:00 PM–1:00 AM, with some flexibility around start and end times

Welder for one of its valued manufacturing partners in Oakville. This is a hands-on opportunity for a skilled welder who takes pride in producing high-quality work and is comfortable working independently in a technical manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating welding equipment, interpreting technical drawings and welding symbols, and ensuring finished components meet strict quality, dimensional, and safety requirements.
What You'll Do
- Set up, adjust, and operate manual and CNC welding equipment, fixtures, tooling, torches, wire feeders, and shielding gas systems.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, engineering drawings, welding symbols, material specifications, and GD&T.
- Perform welding using various processes, including MIG, TIG, PTA (Plasma Transfer Arc), Laser Cladding, and other applicable methods.
- Select appropriate welding processes, filler materials, machine settings, and techniques based on material and part requirements.
- Monitor weld parameters and machine settings to ensure consistent quality and adherence to specifications.
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of welded components and identify defects such as cracks, porosity, distortion, or other non-conformances.
- Prepare components for subsequent finishing or quality inspection.
- Perform routine inspection, cleaning, and preventive maintenance of welding equipment and tooling.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and report problems requiring repair or escalation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, quality standards, and documentation/traceability requirements.
- Meet production expectations related to quality, efficiency, schedule adherence, scrap reduction, and minimizing rework.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and safety.
What We're Looking For
- 2–5 years of hands-on welding experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or machining environment.
- Experience with multiple welding processes, particularly MIG and TIG; experience with PTA or Laser Cladding is an asset.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, welding symbols, and GD&T.
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with welding equipment, fixtures, tooling, and inspection equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience is an asset.
Physical Requirements
This is a hands-on manufacturing position in a heavy industrial environment. The role requires:
- Standing and walking for extended periods, potentially 8–10 hours per shift.
- Regular lifting and handling of materials, including occasional lifting of 50+ lbs.
- Pushing and pulling materials as required.
- Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Ability to see and hear effectively to safely perform the duties of the position.
