Job Summary
Tanbridge Academy is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable French Teacher to join our growing team to help us grow our French Program. The ideal candidate is fluent in both spoken and written French and brings enthusiasm, creativity, and cultural awareness into the classroom. This role involves teaching Grades 1-9, and potentially Gr 10, following the Alberta Education curriculum for Social Studies and Science, while fostering strong French language skills in reading, writing, and conversation.
Meaningfully integrate cultural studies into instruction to give students a broader understanding of the history and development of the French language. A valid teaching license is required.
Job Description
As a French Teacher at Tanbridge Academy, you will create a positive and engaging learning environment that supports language acquisition and student growth. You will design and deliver curriculum that enables students to communicate confidently in French, both formally and conversationally.
French Teacher Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach French language skills, including grammar and vocabulary
- Develop and implement curriculum-aligned lesson plans
- Assign coursework and administer assessments
- Grade assignments and complete report cards
- Incorporate interactive classroom learning activities
- Follow all school policies and procedures
French Teacher Requirements and Qualifications
- BA Education, Alberta Certification
- Fluency in the French language (spoken and written)
- Strong communication skills
- Passion for working with elementary-aged students
