Tavoron traces back to 1938, when Mr. John Henry Foster established John Henry Foster Minnesota after years selling pneumatic equipment across the Midwest out of an Airstream trailer. Mr. Foster later opened a separate office in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1983 the Minnesota business was purchased by Ed Mayhew, and the St. Louis office was sold to a different owner; the two have been independent companies ever since. John Henry Foster Minnesota rebranded to JHFOSTER in 2010, and in 2024 JHFOSTER launched Tavoron as the corporate identity uniting all JHFOSTER companies. JHFOSTER operates today as a Tavoron company from its Eagan, Minnesota, headquarters. JHFOSTER is not affiliated with John Henry Foster (JHF) of St. Louis.
