Key Responsibilities:
- Lead overall business development and account management for the Canadian solar and new energy market; develop and execute regional sales strategies to achieve regional sales targets.
- Develop and maintain core key accounts, including utilities, EPC contractors, distributors, commercial rooftop and C&I PV project developers, independent power producers (IPPs), and Indigenous energy project proponents; build and strengthen the local customer network.
- Develop deep market penetration in Canada; track the full project lifecycle; stay abreast of federal and provincial energy policies, CSA/UL/cUL certification requirements, and grid connection and net metering regulations; independently lead business negotiations, quotation submissions, contract execution, and post-order project delivery follow-up.
- Establish and sustain long-term strategic partnerships with Canadian clients; align with local corporate decision-making and compliance norms; continuously identify incremental business opportunities; build a stable, high-quality client portfolio.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with technical, supply chain, and delivery teams to align project solutions and resolve obstacles throughout project rollout; adapt to a cross-cultural working environment and be based in Canada for on-site business operations.
- Collect regional market intelligence and competitor dynamics; formulate localized sales strategies; summarize replicable market development cases.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or above; majors in Marketing, International Trade, Business, Electrical Engineering, New Energy, or related disciplines preferred.
- Professional Experience: Minimum 8 years of sales experience in the PV/new energy industry, including at least 3 years of sales management experience covering the Canadian market; candidates with existing local key account resources (utilities, EPCs, distributors, commercial rooftop project owners) preferred.
- Language & Technical Competency: Proficient English for daily work; fluency in French is a plus, particularly for the Quebec market. Well-versed in Canadian solar policies, CSA/UL/cUL certifications, provincial grid connection processes, and net metering/micro-generation regulations.
- Personal Competencies: Strong cross-cultural adaptability; rigorous and detail-oriented work style; long-term account management mindset; willingness to be based in Canada on a long-term basis and to travel frequently within Canada.
- Other Requirements: Candidates with valid Canadian work authorization preferred; familiarity with federal and provincial clean energy incentive programs, carbon pricing mechanisms, and Indigenous energy projects is a plus.
