Maintenance Technician l
Rotating Shift - 2 weeks on each
8am to 4:30pm
12:30pm to 9pm
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform unassisted routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs on various electrical and mechanical equipment throughout the logistics center.
- Maintain all equipment within the logistics center.
- Maintain assigned tools and support accurate inventory of company-supplied tools.
- Participate in on-the-job training related to the maintenance and repair of facility systems and equipment.
- Assist with coordination of Maintenance Manager responsibilities.
- Troubleshoot conveyor system issues and repair equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain the appearance of equipment, facility, and grounds.
- Perform AV, conference room, and classroom set-ups.
- Coordinate waste removal services to ensure dumpsters and compactors are emptied in a timely manner.
- Update maintenance work assignment records through the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Perform minor welding tasks on mild steel using electrical welding equipment while following established welding safety practices.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Meet attendance and punctuality standards.
Previous Work Experience
- Minimum one (1) year of experience where the primary assignment was as a multi-craft maintenance mechanic.
- Training in, or equivalent knowledge of, basic AC and DC electricity.
- Experience repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment.
- Introductory welding knowledge and familiarity with safety requirements related to electrical welding practices.
Education / Certification
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
- Experience operating material handling equipment.
- Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and business needs.
- Skill in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical journals.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a focus on task completion.
- Capability to follow oral and written instructions and seek clarification when needed.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop productive working relationships.
- Sound judgment when working under pressure and managing competing priorities.
- Capacity to lift and transport up to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to providing courteous, timely service when responding to customer questions and concerns.
- Tolerance for remaining stationary for extended periods as required.
- Basic proficiency with computer applications, including spreadsheets, word processing programs, databases, and maintenance management systems.
Working Conditions
- Distribution center environment.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, elevated noise levels, heights, wet and humid conditions, and outdoor weather conditions.
- Occasional non-standard work hours or overtime as business needs require.
