Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced IAM Software Engineer to design, develop, implement, and support secure Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions across the organization. The successful candidate will have strong software engineering capabilities combined with hands-on experience in IAM technologies, identity lifecycle management, authentication, authorization, and security integration.
This role will work closely with cybersecurity, infrastructure, application development, and business teams to build scalable identity solutions that improve security, automate access management, and enhance the user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain IAM solutions supporting workforce, customer, application, and privileged identities.
- Develop and integrate IAM services, APIs, workflows, connectors, and automation.
- Implement identity lifecycle processes including joiner, mover, and leaver (JML) workflows.
- Develop solutions for provisioning, deprovisioning, role management, access requests, and access reviews.
- Integrate IAM platforms with enterprise applications, databases, directories, cloud services, and SaaS platforms.
- Develop and maintain integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, LDAP, SCIM, SAML, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect.
- Support authentication and authorization solutions, including SSO and MFA.
- Automate IAM processes using scripting and programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or PowerShell.
- Develop and maintain IAM workflows, rules, policies, and custom components.
- Troubleshoot production issues and investigate identity and access-related incidents.
- Participate in application onboarding and identity integration projects.
- Implement security controls aligned with organizational policies and industry standards.
- Work with cybersecurity teams to identify and remediate identity-related vulnerabilities and risks.
- Develop unit tests, integration tests, and automated testing for IAM solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design reviews, and architecture discussions.
- Maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, integration specifications, and operational procedures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of IAM architecture, automation, scalability, and reliability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of software engineering or application development experience, preferably with IAM or cybersecurity solutions.
- Hands-on experience developing and integrating IAM solutions.
- Strong programming experience in one or more languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or PowerShell.
- Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
- Strong understanding of identity protocols and standards including:
o OAuth 2.0
o OpenID Connect
o SAML
o SCIM
o LDAP
- Experience with identity lifecycle management and automated provisioning/deprovisioning.
- Experience integrating applications with IAM platforms.
- Understanding of authentication, authorization, RBAC, ABAC, SSO, and MFA.
- Experience working with relational databases and SQL.
- Familiarity with Git-based source control and CI/CD practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with one or more of the following IAM platforms:
- SailPoint IdentityIQ or IdentityNow/Identity Security Cloud
- Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD
Additional experience with:
- AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
- Kubernetes and containerized environments
- Terraform or Infrastructure as Code
