We are currently hiring an Business Analyst - Capital Markets Applications for our global consulting client, working for a large investment bank.
Role: Business Analyst - Capital Markets Applications
Number of Roles: 1
Location: Hybrid - Downtown Montreal, QC
Salary Range: $75,000 - $80,000 + 9% bonus +6% RRSP matching, full health benefits from day 1, 4-5 weeks of paid vacation + many other perks
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform data analysis and collaborate with business and IT teams to gather, define, and drive project requirements.
- Manage backlog prioritization and support delivery planning.
- Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT), perform basic database queries, troubleshoot issues, and support problem resolution.
- Act as Product Owner by challenging requirements, negotiating priorities, and building consensus among stakeholders.
- Understand compliance and regulatory requirements and contribute to the design and architecture of compliance applications.
- Take ownership of critical projects and lead Operating Committee and Steering Committee meetings.
- Coordinate project priorities across global teams located in AMER and Asia.
- Work with production support teams to resolve Level 3 production issues.
- Lead project sprints, Scrum ceremonies, and release meetings with stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS
Mandatory
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of the technology behind banking applications.
- Good knowledge of infrastructure, web applications, Unix and Windows operating systems, and public cloud-based applications.
- Ability to analyze problems and discuss solutions with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Project management experience.
- Scrum Master and/or Product Owner experience.
- Experience with JIRA for backlog and task management.
- Previous experience working with Java-based banking applications and cloud technologies.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and Big Data databases.
- Experience working with large data sets and performing data analysis.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
Nice to Have
- Project experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
