The Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) is a not‑for‑profit regulator dedicated to enhancing public safety across Ontario. TSSA’s team of over 450 professionals delivers safety oversight across multiple regulated sectors through technical expertise, compliance, and collaboration with industry partners. As part of the Process Improvement team, you'll collaborate with colleagues across the organization to improve processes, support consistency, and enhance how services are delivered. By helping teams work more effectively and efficiently, you'll contribute to the programs and services that support public safety across Ontario.

Your Key Contributions:

Support Process Excellence Initiatives: Partner with stakeholders across TSSA to document, analyze, and improve business processes that support operational effectiveness, regulatory consistency, and customer service outcomes.

Facilitate Process Discovery and Design: Lead process-related discussions and workshops to gather requirements, validate workflows, identify process gaps, and support the development of current and future-state business processes.

Develop Process Documentation: Create and maintain process maps, standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and supporting documentation to promote consistency, accountability, and knowledge sharing across the organization.

Apply Continuous Improvement Methodologies: Utilize Lean Six Sigma tools, process mapping techniques, and root cause analysis methodologies to evaluate business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.

Support Business Transformation Activities: Provide process expertise during project planning, testing, implementation, and adoption activities by assessing process impacts, reviewing defects, and supporting process alignment with approved workflows.

Collaborate Across Diverse Stakeholder Groups: Work closely with operational teams, subject matter experts, leaders, vendors, and project stakeholders to build consensus, support decision-making, and advance organizational objectives.

Contribute to Organizational Improvement: Participate in projects and initiatives that strengthen service delivery, improve operational efficiency, and support continuous improvement across TSSA's regulatory programs and corporate functions.

Your Qualifications & Key Strengths:

Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, Public Administration, or a related discipline, combined with a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.

Additional professional certifications in project management, process improvement, business analysis, or change management, such as PMP or equivalent credentials, are considered an asset.

Technical Background:

Bring a minimum of five years of experience analyzing, documenting, and improving business processes within complex operational, regulatory, public sector, or service-focused environments. Experience supporting cross-functional projects, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and developing process improvement recommendations is required.

Demonstrate experience applying Lean methodologies, business analysis principles, root cause analysis techniques, and change management practices to support process improvements, business transformation initiatives, and organizational change.

Demonstrate advanced proficiency with Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Office applications, and process mapping tools used to document, analyze, and improve business processes. Experience developing process maps, maintaining SOPs and work instructions, and supporting process documentation within structured governance environments is preferred.

Utilize strong analytical, documentation, communication, and facilitation skills to evaluate complex business processes, identify process gaps, gather requirements, present findings, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across multiple departments.
