Original job description

Company Description Techno Access helps organizations across Canada create inclusive, accessible, and compliant digital experiences aligned with WCAG and Canadian accessibility laws. The team specializes in accessibility audits, remediation, accessibility-first design, and compliance consulting for standards such as WCAG 2.1/2.2, AODA, and the Accessible Canada Act. Techno Access partners with public sector organizations, enterprises, educational institutions, healthcare providers, and growing businesses to ensure digital platforms are usable for everyone, including people with disabilities. Its services include accessibility testing, training, VPAT and conformance reporting, and ongoing accessibility monitoring, with a mission to make accessibility practical, scalable, and embedded into every digital experience.
Role Description The Accessibility Consultant is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. This role involves performing detailed accessibility audits of websites, web applications, and digital documents against WCAG and Canadian accessibility requirements, and preparing clear, actionable findings and recommendations. The consultant collaborates with designers, developers, and content teams to guide remediation efforts, support accessibility-first design decisions, and provide practical implementation advice. Daily responsibilities include conducting screen reader and keyboard testing, reviewing UX flows for accessibility, preparing VPAT and accessibility conformance reports, and advising clients on AODA and ACA compliance. The role also includes delivering accessibility training, workshops, and ongoing consulting to help clients embed accessibility into their processes and maintain long-term compliance.
Qualifications

Strong knowledge of digital accessibility standards and compliance frameworks, including WCAG 2.1/2.2, AODA, ACA, and related Canadian regulations.
Hands-on experience with accessibility testing methods and tools, such as screen readers (e.g., NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver), keyboard-only testing, color contrast analysis, and automated scanners.
Ability to review and interpret UX and design assets (wireframes, prototypes, design systems) and provide accessibility-first guidance to product, design, and development teams.
Experience conducting accessibility audits for websites, web applications, and digital documents (including PDF and office formats), and documenting clear remediation recommendations.
Comfort preparing accessibility documentation, including audit reports, VPAT / ACR, checklists, and compliance summaries for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong communication and facilitation skills, with experience delivering training or workshops and collaborating cross-functionally with clients and internal teams.
Understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, ARIA, JavaScript) sufficient to discuss practical remediation options with developers.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a client-focused consulting environment.
