Position Description
The Sr. Analytics Developer is responsible for leading the design, development, and optimization of analytics solutions and data models that empower decision-making across TTI Canada.
This individual will ensure BI and analytics platforms are performant, scalable, and aligned with enterprise standards through effective data modeling, governance, and automation practices.
The successful candidate must demonstrate advanced technical expertise in Power BI, DAX, and data modeling, while providing mentorship and technical guidance to other analytics developers.
What You Will Do
The Sr. Analytics Developer will drive the development of enterprise-grade analytics solutions and mentor junior team members to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality insights.
In this position, the Sr. Analytics Developer will:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable Power BI datasets, dataflows, and semantic models.
- Lead data modeling and performance tuning initiatives across analytics projects.
- Implement advanced DAX calculations, reusable measures, and efficient report designs.
- Oversee governance, version control, and deployment processes for BI assets.
- Collaborate with the Data Engineer to ensure seamless integration between pipelines and reports.
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Develop automation and CI/CD processes for BI releases.
- Establish coding and documentation standards for analytics development.
- Evaluate new BI tools, features, and best practices to improve efficiency.
- Build reusable templates and frameworks to support enterprise reporting.
- Manage permissions, data access, and security configurations within Power BI.
- Support testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization across environments.
- Mentor Analytics Developers and contribute to team skill development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align analytics delivery with strategic goals.
- Document data models, logic, and dependencies for operational continuity.
What You Will Bring
- Legally entitled to work full-time in Canada and able to travel to the United States.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in BI or analytics development, with strong Power BI expertise.
- Proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and SQL for building optimized data models.
- Experience leading end-to-end BI solution design and governance.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing and data integration principles.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Azure Synapse, Databricks, or Snowflake).
- Experience with version control (Git), DevOps, and release pipelines.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to mentor and support other developers.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
