Overview
The client is expanding its digital delivery capabilities to simplify government services and provide better user experiences for Albertans. The Province is seeking Full Stack Developers to support service innovation, program review, and digital transformation projects across the Government of Alberta. Developers will work within cross-functional product delivery and program review teams, collaborating with product owners, designers, researchers, and other technical professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in technical discovery, field research, and user interviews.
- Lead technical discovery and create architecture diagrams, documentation, and other technical artifacts.
- Design and develop full stack solutions based on project requirements and discovery findings.
- Develop new features and enhancements for digital products and services.
- Identify and resolve functional and non-functional defects.
- Improve code quality, development tooling, maintainability, and documentation.
- Collaborate with frontend designers, product owners, and cross-functional agile teams.
- Advise product owners on technical approaches and implementation options.
- Support application deployment and product launches.
- Develop and contribute to reusable components and common technical capabilities.
- Support ongoing development, onboarding, technical documentation, and improvement of team development and quality practices.
Must-Haves
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of Full Stack Development experience working on complex software solutions in an agile environment.
- 5+ years of experience with Git/source control in collaborative software development.
- 3+ years of experience with automated unit testing and integration testing.
- 3+ years of experience with database technologies, including relational databases and alternatives.
- 3+ years of experience developing and supporting production applications using modern application frameworks and technologies.
- Ability to complete the required Conflict of Interest attestation.
Nice-to-Haves
- 2+ years of experience modernizing or transforming legacy systems into modern digital services.
- 1+ year of experience using Generative AI and agentic tooling.
- 2+ years of experience with the specified technology stack.
- 2+ years of experience with software architecture and design patterns.
- 2+ years of experience with Government of Alberta development guidelines and principles.
- 2+ years of experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
- 2+ years working with teams involving UX design, service design, and related design disciplines.
