Senior Project Manager(renewable energy)

About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead renewable energy projects from development through commissioning. The projects may include hydro, wind, solar, and energy storage.
This role will manage the full project development process and work closely with internal teams, consultants, government agencies, landowners, local communities, communities, and business partners.
Responsibilities
- Lead project development from start to commissioning.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, risks, and priorities.
- Coordinate environmental studies and obtain required permits.
- Manage relationships with government agencies, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Lead community consultation and engagement activities.
- Build strong relationships with landowners, local partners, and Communities.
- Manage land acquisition and land-related activities.
- Develop and manage partnerships with local project partners.
- Support electrical grid interconnection strategies and coordinate with relevant authorities.
- Coordinate with the Construction team and ensure a smooth project handoff.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to management.
- Continue supporting environmental, community, land, and partnership matters through project commissioning.
- Travel across Canada and North America as needed, approximately 30%.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in project development, preferably in renewable energy.
- Experience with wind, solar, hydro, energy storage, or similar energy projects is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Studies, Urban Planning, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of environmental, land use, permitting, and community issues.
- Strong communication, negotiation, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with partnerships, contracts, and negotiations is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in both French and English, written and spoken, is required.
- Willingness to travel approximately 30%.
