The Advanced Product and Solutions Lead will play a key role in technical customer engagements by managing product customization requests and elaborating detailed technical content, across both commercial and defense segments.
The Lead will work with customer engagement teams, including Customer Solutions and Sales Engineering, to translate advanced customer needs into Lightspeed deliverables and provide advanced support to customers and partners (e.g. technical deep dives).
The role sits within the Product Management organization for Telesat Lightspeed and works closely with Product Managers, Engineering, Sales, Customer Solutions, Operations and ecosystem partners.
The role will work across the range of products and solutions offered by Lightspeed, including connectivity services, value-added services, security services, private infrastructure offerings, user terminals, and third-party integrations.
This role requires strong technical depth, strong solutioning skills, a product mindset, and the ability to translate customer and market needs into scalable, commercially viable services.
Resource is expected to be onsite at Telesat HQ, a minimum of 4 days per week.

Key Responsibilities
- Translate non-standard requests from Customers, Partners and Sales Teams into opportunities for Lightspeed product customizations, new product features, or new offerings.
- Work with product managers to technically assess and action requests for third-party integrations between Telesat and Partners, including impacts on current products.
- Work with product managers to derive cost estimations for product customizations and third-party integrations.
- Develop advanced technical content, application notes, white papers, demonstration materials.
- Responding to advanced support requests from internal and external stakeholders.
- Support special projects with partners and customers.
Education & Experience
Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelor, Masters or Ph.D. degree in a relevant Engineering field.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in a systems or product role related to communications and networking engineering, spanning wireline, terrestrial wireless and/or satellite communications.
- Broad technical knowledge that cuts across domains such as Ethernet, IP networking, APIs, security protocols, waveforms, antennas and RF.
- Strong experience in solutioning complex issues with incomplete or ambiguous information.
- Customer-facing experience.
- Experience with modern satellite communications is a plus.
- Experience with defense solutions is a plus.
Other Requirements
- The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain a Government of Canada, Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance.
- Ability and willingness to travel to attend international customer meetings and events.
- Fluent English is required and French is highly desirable (written and spoken).
