What To Expect
We are seeking a Cell Materials Engineering Technician to join a cross functional cell engineering team. In this role, the technician will perform chemical analysis and materials characterization while supporting battery materials R&D and engineering projects. The position requires hands-on work in a chemistry lab environment, including operation of analysis instruments, coin cell fabrication, and cell testing.
What You'll Do
Operate chemical analysis and materials characterization instruments to deliver results to the engineering teamPrepare chemical and material samples for analysis and evaluationFabricate standard electrodes for material level coin cell testingBuild and test coin cells, three electrode cells, and pouch cellsDocument sample preparation processes and analysis results in an organized manner
What You'll Bring
Report process or lab issues and support identification of solutionsMaintain lab organization and perform routine upkeep tasksSafely handle hazardous materialsOperate XRD, TGA, FTIR, PSA, BET, and SEM instrumentsPerform wet slurry processing and electrode fabricationConduct cell fabrication and testingDemonstrate strong communication skillsExperience working with air sensitive materials or battery materialsKnowledge of MATLAB, Python, or similar data analysis tools

Expected Compensation
$20.22 - $55.86/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
