Located on Beechwood Avenue in Ottawa, we operate on a not-for-profit basis and provide funeral, cemetery, and cremation services.
We are excited to be growing our team and we are looking for a full-time permanent Family Services Representative to join our cemetery and funeral pre-planning team.

Role Description
At Beechwood, families turn to us during some of life's most important and emotional moments. In this position, you will play a meaningful role in helping individuals and families make informed decisions about funeral, cremation, cemetery, and memorial arrangements.
This position is ideal for someone who is compassionate, relationship-focused, and committed to providing exceptional client care. You enjoy helping people navigate complex decisions with empathy, professionalism, and confidence. Whether supporting families planning ahead or assisting those who have recently experienced a loss, you will serve as a trusted advisor and advocate throughout their journey.
What you'll do
- Guide individuals and families through advance planning for funeral, cremation, cemetery, and memorial arrangements.
- Support families following a death by coordinating cemetery-related services and helping them understand available options.
- Support executors and trustees to understand and complete tasks following the death of a loved one.
- Work collaboratively with funeral directors and internal teams to ensure seamless, compassionate service.
- Build meaningful relationships within the community through networking, events, educational presentations, and outreach activities.
- Become a trusted resource by developing a comprehensive understanding of Beechwood's services and offerings.
- Provide personalized recommendations that align with the needs, values, and wishes of each family.
- Deliver an exceptional client experience while achieving individual performance goals.

Skills and Experience
- Strong work ethic, goal driven, sales mindset and self-motivated (required)
- Experience in client service, relationship management, consultative sales, community engagement, or a similar client-facing role (required)
- Experience arranging pre-need or at-need funeral services is an asset
- An ability to learn and adapt in fast moving environment (required)
- A driver’s license, use of a vehicle, and valid vehicle insurance (required)
- Bilingualism in English/French (required)
- Fluency in another language is an asset
- One of the following licenses would would be an asset
- Funeral Pre-Planning (can be completed during training period)
- Funeral Director – Class 1 (embalming)
- Funeral Director – Class 2 (non-embalming)
- Cemetery Sales Representative Certification would be an asset (can be completed during training period)
Hours of Work and Compensation
Family Services Sales Representatives have a rotation of duty days when they must be on-site during the regular business operating hours (Monday to Friday). There are additional monthly duty schedules for evening and weekend availability. Sales representatives are encouraged to build community connections and attend events outside regular business hours. You will have the flexibility to schedule your working hours on non-duty days around client meetings and events.
Family Services Sales Representatives' earn commission and bonuses based on sales, as such earning are variable. The first six-months of employment are a training period with an annual salary of $45,000, and are not eligible for commission or bonuses. After 1 year in this position, most sales representatives earn between $100,000 and $150,000 annually.
