About BMI Group
BMI Group is a growing, diversified organization with interests spanning industrial development, real estate, residential, hospitality, and emerging ventures.
Our work crosses industries, audiences, and markets, which means our marketing environment is anything but one-size-fits-all. We’re building a Design and Communications team that can bring strategic thinking, strong execution, and a clear understanding of business objectives to that complexity.
The Opportunity
What happens when marketing isn’t confined to one brand, one audience or one industry?
At BMI Group, the answer can be industrial development one day, residential or hospitality the next, followed by a new brand, venture or business opportunity.
We’re looking for an Integrated Marketing Lead who can connect business objectives with marketing strategy, execution, and measurable results across that diverse portfolio.
As part of the Design and Communications team, you’ll work closely with BMI entities and the Creative Director to develop holistic marketing plans aligned with clear business objectives. You’ll bring marketing expertise to strategic planning, then lead the hands-on execution and delivery of those plans - coordinating resources across the department and project teams, managing timelines and deliverables, and measuring results.
With projects spanning multiple industries, markets, and stages of growth, this role offers an unusually diverse marketing environment. From established operations to new brands, developments and ventures, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape initiatives from early strategy and positioning through launch, activation and ongoing growth.
This is a role for someone who enjoys both sides of marketing: figuring out what the business needs and making it happen.
What You’ll Do
- Lead marketing planning across BMI entities, working with business leaders to understand objectives and develop tailored approaches.
- Translate business goals into integrated marketing strategies supporting tenant attraction, residential sales and leasing, hospitality revenue, business development, government engagement, community initiatives, and investment opportunities.
- Own the implementation and delivery of marketing plans, including timelines, channel plans, campaign briefs, budgets, email campaigns, deliverables, and project coordination.
- Work hands-on with marketing activities as needed, while coordinating support from the Design and Communications team and project teams.
- Establish meaningful KPIs, measure performance, and use results and market insights to optimize strategies, campaigns, and marketing investment.
- Partner with the Creative Director, Social Media Manager, Web Designer, Art Directors and Designers to connect marketing strategy with creative and channel execution.
- Maintain portfolio-wide visibility of upcoming launches, acquisitions, openings, campaigns and business milestones, proactively identifying marketing needs and opportunities.
- Manage marketing budgets, external partners, and relationships with entity leadership to keep initiatives aligned with business priorities.
- Bring structure and momentum to multiple projects, stakeholders and priorities while maintaining accountability from planning through delivery.
This Role Will Suit Someone Who
- Can move comfortably between big-picture strategy and hands-on execution.
- Doesn't need a perfectly defined brief to get started. You can take a business objective and figure out what needs to happen next.
- Enjoys understanding the business problem behind the marketing request, not simply completing a list of deliverables.
- Likes variety and can adapt their approach to different audiences, industries and stages of growth.
- Takes ownership and follows work through to completion.
- Is comfortable making recommendations, asking good questions and challenging assumptions when appropriate.
- Enjoys working alongside creative people and understands the difference between marketing strategy and creative direction.
- Knows when to lead, when to collaborate and when to bring in the right expertise.
- Uses data and results to understand what is working and what should change.
- Communicates confidently with business leaders, project teams and creative professionals.
What You’ll Bring
- 7+ years of progressive marketing experience, ideally across multiple brands, business units, industries or sectors.
- Degree or diploma in Marketing, Business, Communications or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing integrated marketing strategies tied to measurable business outcomes.
- Experience working across B2B and B2C marketing.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, lead generation, website management, SEO, email marketing, social media, paid media, and analytics.
- Ability to establish meaningful KPIs, interpret performance data and translate insights into marketing decisions.
- Experience collaborating with creative, design, web and social media teams.
- Strong project management, communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills.
- A high degree of self-direction, ownership and accountability.
- A strategic, commercially minded approach with the ability to move comfortably between planning and execution.
- Experience in industrial, real estate/development, residential or hospitality environments is an asset.
Working at BMI
- This is a hybrid role, with Toronto as the preferred home office and access to BMI Group offices in Stratford and Niagara.
- You’ll collaborate with teams, business leaders and project groups across BMI locations and entities, both in person and virtually.
- The work is varied, collaborative and often moving across several initiatives at once. Some flexibility in working hours may occasionally be required around launches, events and major project milestones.
Travel
- Occasional travel to BMI properties and project sites will be required to support planning, launches and key project milestones.
- Periodic travel to locations across Ontario and Canada may also be required based on project needs, including occasional overnight travel.
Inclusivity & Accommodations
We’re committed to building an inclusive workplace and encourage applications from all qualified individuals. If you require accommodation at any stage of the recruitment process, please let us know, and we’ll work with you to meet your needs.
Hiring Process
We want the hiring process to give you a clear understanding of the role, the team, and the way we work. Depending on the position, the process may include an introductory conversation, interviews with members of the team and leadership, and discussion around the type of work you would be responsible for.
Thank You for Applying
We appreciate the time and effort that goes into applying for a new opportunity. While we’d like to meet everyone, only candidates selected to move forward in the process will be contacted.
