The Senior Business Systems Analyst, Data Strategy & Solutions bridges business needs and technology solutions by translating priorities into actionable data, analytics, automation, and AI initiatives aligned with Canada Life's North Platform strategy. This role partners with business leaders, architects, data teams, and delivery teams to define requirements, develop solution options, support estimation and planning, and ensure initiatives are ready for execution.
What you will do
- Lead stakeholder workshops to identify business needs, opportunities, risks, and success measures.
- Elicit, analyze, and document business, data, functional, and AI-related requirements.
- Identify opportunities to leverage data, analytics, automation, and AI to improve business outcomes.
- Develop high-level solution concepts and future-state processes aligned with enterprise data strategy and platform capabilities.
- Collaborate with architects, technology teams, and data teams to evaluate solution options and assess feasibility.
- Document business requirements, use cases, epics, process flows, business rules, and data requirements.
- Support estimation and planning activities by identifying complexity drivers, dependencies, assumptions, and risks.
- Prepare initiatives for delivery by ensuring requirements and solution documentation are complete and actionable.
- Develop executive-ready presentations, recommendations, and decision-support materials for senior leaders.
- Act as a trusted advisor, helping stakeholders move from concept to delivery-ready solutions.
What you will bring
- 7+ years of Business Analysis or Business Systems Analysis experience.
- Experience supporting enterprise data, analytics, reporting, AI, automation, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to lead workshops, gather requirements, and engage senior stakeholders.
- Experience working with architects, technology teams, data teams, and delivery teams in large organizations.
- Strong understanding of data platforms, cloud technologies, data governance, AI, machine learning, and automation concepts.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, analytical thinking, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business-focused recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Insurance industry experience.
- Experience with enterprise data strategy, cloud data modernization, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Familiarity with Databricks, Azure AI, Microsoft Copilot, or similar technologies.
- Understanding of responsible AI, privacy, governance, and risk management principles.
- Experience preparing executive presentations, business cases, and leadership briefings.

The base salary for this position is between $80,400 - $130,400 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
