Role Description This full-time, on-site Outside Sales Representative / Account Manager role is based in Surrey, BC. The position is responsible for managing and growing an assigned customer base, developing new business opportunities, and promoting the company’s fasteners, tools, safety gear, and accessories to clients in construction and industrial sectors. Day-to-day activities include visiting customer sites, conducting product presentations and demonstrations, preparing quotes, and negotiating pricing and terms within established guidelines. The role involves maintaining regular contact with key accounts, resolving customer issues, coordinating with internal teams on orders and deliveries, and updating account information and sales activities in the CRM system. The successful candidate will be expected to meet sales targets, follow up on leads, participate in industry events as needed, and represent The Fastener Group professionally in the local market.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in outside sales, account management, or business development, preferably in industrial supplies, construction products, or related sectors.
- Strong relationship-building, customer service, and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with diverse stakeholders.
- Solid organizational and time-management abilities, including territory planning, follow-up discipline, and accurate record-keeping in CRM or similar tools.
- Knowledge of fasteners, tools, safety equipment, or industrial products is an asset, along with a willingness to learn technical product details.
- Comfort working in field environments, including job sites and industrial facilities, with a commitment to safe work practices and company policies.
- Proficiency with basic business software (email, spreadsheets, CRM) and the ability to prepare professional quotes and sales documents.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for customer visits within the territory.
- Completion of secondary education; post-secondary studies in business, marketing, or a related field are considered an asset.
