Gig: Event Videographer & Editor
TLDR: The Great Kind is looking for a skilled, independent videographer & editor to capture the raw magic of live playshops (usually ~2 hours of event time). You’ll be on the ground with Shin (founder and lead facilitator), documenting the high energy, playful flow, candid expressions and epiphanies of the attendees, without ever feeling intrusive.
What You’ll Do:
- On-Site Capture: Move through events like a wallflower. Blending into the room is your superpower. You capture authentic moments without disrupting the vibe.
- Editing & Post-Production: Cut punchy short-form videos, usually without discernible audio (kept private for psychological safety).
- Collaboration: Partner on final cuts, for example, syncing your visuals with custom voiceovers and narrative direction.

- Paid as a Partner: No capped hourly rates. You get paid a percentage of the event revenue. As we grow, your payout grows.
- Unlimited Expansion: Potential of expanded scope to become an editor partner on live-streams and Youtube long-form videos.
What You Bring
- Incredible situational awareness: you know where to stand to get the shot without being in the way
- Experience shooting and editing high-energy short-form video
- Your own camera, audio (less important), and editing setup (knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro is preferred)
- Based in the GTA with reliable personal transportation. You must be able to transport yourself to event locations, usually in Downtown Toronto, Mississauga and sometimes Hamilton
Location: Toronto / GTA during event hours, editing is fully remote
Compensation: Competitive revenue share (negotiable % of total event revenue per project)
