Our client is a growing healthcare technology company focused on using AI and data science to improve preventative care and early disease detection. We are seeking a Finance Manager to help scale and transform a global, multi-entity finance function, with a focus on financial close, consolidation, reporting, process improvement and supporting business decision-making.
The role will partner closely with Finance, IT and business leaders to optimize ERP systems, leverage automation and AI, improve reporting processes, and develop management dashboards using Power BI. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
- Conduct financial analysis, variance analysis, and provide insight to support decision-making by senior management.
- Assist in the development of financial reports and dashboards for monitoring key SaaS performance indicators (KPIs).
Accounting and Treasury Operations:
- Supervise and review the work of the accounting team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
- Provide guidance on revenue recognition policies to the accounting team and explain these policies to business unit leaders.
- Ensure adherence to accounting principles, policies, and procedures and standardization of policies across multiple business units.
- Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Support the cash flow planning and management process to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations and growth.
- Manage relationships with financial institutions.
Financial Controls and Compliance:
- Assist in the establishment and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain the integrity of financial data.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), tax regulations, and other financial reporting requirements.
- Assist with external audits, including providing necessary documentation and addressing audit inquiries.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with the finance team to support the quarterly / annual budgeting process.
- Assist in the development of financial forecasts and projections.
- Monitor budget performance and provide recommendations for adjustments as needed.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the financial month end close process.
- Optimize the use of the accounting system (NetSuite) by standardizing the Chart of Accounts and automating key financial reports.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies, as needed.
Training and Development:
- Mentor and develop finance team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Stay current with accounting and financial industry trends and regulations and share insights with the team.
M&A:
- Support the integration process for new acquisitions and assist in developing an integration playbook.
Professional Qualifications:
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in financial data analysis and reporting.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and lead by example.
- Brings a University degree preferably in finance or business with an accounting designation (CA, CPA) and/or an MBA with a strong working knowledge of IFRS GAAP. Public company experience and/or experience taking a company public is highly desirable.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
- Flexible, adaptable, and agile style and can adjust to multiple demands and a changing, fast paced, high-pressure environment.
- Takes responsibility for assigned tasks and shows initiative to suggest improvements to systems, processes, and procedures.
- Highly organized, the ideal candidate manages his/her time well and brings projects in on time and on budget. Candidate will have excellent communication skills and will be adept at explaining complex ideas and concepts in simple terms and ensuring open lines of communication throughout the organization.
