Original job description
Core Duties And Responsibilities
- Lubrication Execution
- Apply lubricants (oils, greases, specialty fluids) to machinery according to schedules
- Use proper quantities, methods, and tools (manual, automated, or centralized systems)
- Use ultrasonic grease gun for specific applications
- Perform oil changes, grease replenishment, and system flushing
- Prevent over‑lubrication and under‑lubrication
- Lubricant Management
- Select the correct lubricant for each application based on Job Plans and OEM specs
- Store, handle, and transfer lubricants contamination‑free
- Maintain Lubricant Stock and Inventory
- Label and color‑code lubricants and equipment
- Track lubricant usage and inventory
- Condition Monitoring & Inspections
- Conduct routine machine inspections during lubrication rounds
- Check oil levels, grease conditions, leaks, filters, breathers, and seals
- Identify early signs of wear, overheating, vibration, or contamination
- Take basic readings (temperature, noise, visual condition)
- Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Support
- Follow PM schedules tied to lubrication tasks
- Support PdM programs by identifying lubrication‑related failures
- Help extend asset life and improve equipment uptime
- Report findings and recommend corrective actions
- Equipment Care & Reliability Practices
- Maintain and clean lubrication points (fittings, ports, lines)
- Install or maintain breathers, sight glasses, and filters
- Help eliminate contamination (water, dirt, particulates)
- Support best practices such as precision lubrication
- Documentation & Reporting
- Record lubrication work completed (CMMS or excel spreadsheets)
- Document machine conditions and anomalies
- Track lubrication intervals and changes
- Communicate issues clearly with maintenance, operations, and reliability teams
- Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Follow site safety procedures (LOTO, PPE, confined space, hot work awareness)
- Handle and dispose of lubricants and waste according to environmental regulations
- Prevent spills and respond appropriately if they occur
Must Haves
- Valid Red Seal Journyperson Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certification
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
