Position Information
Temporary position until March 12, 2027 approximately.
Rotation/Shifts
Days, 8 hour shifts.

Basic Requirements
- Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario;
- Three (3) years recent cardiovascular related nursing experience;
- Experience in counselling and behaviour change;
- Recent experience in community and health and/or outpatient setting;
- Demonstrated knowledge of principles of health education, health promotion, risk reduction and behaviour change strategies and systems;
- Demonstrated knowledge of smoking cessation literature;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team;
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer software packages including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Excellent organizational and planning skills;
- Must be eligible to work in Canada;
- Proficiency in English and French oral expression (level 4 - advanced) and comprehension (level 4 - advanced).
The Ottawa Hospital uses a
5-level language proficiency scale to define the required level of language skills in English and in French for positions at the Hospital, and to evaluate job candidate language skills. Language proficiency requirements are based on the nature of the position and the level of interaction with French and English speaking clients.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Nursing Degree;
- Demonstrated research experience;
- Previous experience in working in health promotion;
- Previous experience in patient education;
- Previous experience coordinating programs and services;
- Current membership with RNAO;
- Previous experience in telephone counselling.
