Join our Finance team

Through your rigor and passion for numbers, you will see the direct impact of your work on something as tangible as a trade corridor that keeps the Canadian economy moving. At the Seaway, financial decisions shape how a critical piece of North American infrastructure operates. Your financial analyses and reports will inform real decisions, your problem-solving skills will help resolve complex challenges, and your support to colleagues across the organization will make a lasting difference.

If that connection between financial rigor and real-world impact speaks to you, this role was built for someone like you.

Competitive compensation and defined benefit pension plan.
Employer-paid group insurance coverage, including virtual health care.
Annual performance bonus.
Generous annual vacation, plus 13 paid statutory holidays and 5 personal days.
Employee and Family Assistance Program.
Hybrid work arrangement offering the best of both worlds.
Flexible 37.5-hour work week, with the possibility of a time bank.
Professional development, a wellness program, and several other benefits!

Your responsibilities

Prepare the tools, data, and documents required for the budgeting process related to controllable costs.
Conduct cost-benefit financial impact analyses to inform operational decisions.
Analyze variances between actual results, budget forecasts, and quarterly reports, as well as data related to management and operating costs.
Participate in the monthly accounts closing process, including the preparation of internal financial statements.
Maintain the fixed asset database and SAP master data.
Manage the investment income process and prepare related account reconciliations.
Support audits, internal controls, and financial risk management.

Your profile

Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration.
Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of relevant experience.
Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, obtained or in progress.
Good understanding of the full accounting cycle, year-end closings, and audit files for external auditors.
Solid expertise in account reconciliation techniques, including bank reconciliations.
Excellent knowledge of cost accounting, capital budgeting, and full-time equivalents (FTEs).
Ability to simplify and communicate complex financial information.
Bilingualism (French and English), spoken and written, to collaborate with teams located in Quebec and Ontario.
Good knowledge of relevant computer tools (Microsoft Office, SAP, or equivalent).
Experience or knowledge of incorporated not-for-profit organizations (NPOs), particularly Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS), an asset.
