Thyme & Again is looking for a hands-on IT Systems & Microsoft 365 Administrator to take ownership of our day-to-day IT environment across our two Ottawa locations and help us continue building stronger, more organized systems for the future.
This is a long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys having real ownership of their work. You’ll have the autonomy to investigate issues, recommend solutions and carry improvements through, while working directly with our leadership team and supporting employees across the business.
What you’ll work on:
- Microsoft 365 administration across Entra ID, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive
- User accounts, permissions, MFA and security
- Employee onboarding and offboarding
- Intune, devices, computers, printers and other hardware
- Network and infrastructure troubleshooting
- IT security, access reviews and system improvements
- Vendor and third-party system coordination
- Asset and equipment management
- Backups and business continuity
- Building and maintaining clear IT documentation, procedures and system records
What we're looking for:
You’re someone who can take an issue from question to resolution. You’re comfortable investigating, assessing options, making a recommendation and explaining the reasoning behind it.
Strong communication is just as important as technical ability in this role. You should be patient and approachable when supporting employees, proactive about keeping people informed, and comfortable speaking directly with leadership when you see a risk, opportunity or better way of doing something.
We also value someone who documents their work well. Our goal is to build an IT environment that is organized, secure and understandable, rather than dependent on knowledge held by one person.
Experience administering Microsoft 365 in a small or mid-sized organization, particularly Entra ID, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune and Microsoft security tools, would be a strong asset. Hands-on experience with hardware, networks and general IT troubleshooting is also important.
The details:
This is a part-time position of approximately 8–16 hours per week, with flexibility in how those hours are structured during our operating hours.
The first few months will be primarily onsite at our Ottawa locations so you can get to know our infrastructure, operations and team firsthand. After that, we're open to exploring a more hybrid arrangement based on the needs of the role and the business.
Compensation: $30–$35/hour, based on experience.
If you're looking for a role where you can build a long-term relationship with a local business, have meaningful ownership over its IT environment and see the impact of the improvements you make, we'd love to hear from you.
